Business Spotlight: Cattleack BBQ
When searching for the perfect BBQ, you may be looking for tender brisket, sticky glazed ribs, juicy smoked pork, or pulled pork. Texas is one of the BBQ centers of the country, and Cattleack BBQ in Dallas has everything you want in a BBQ restaurant.
What’s Special About Cattleack BBQ?
They’re not located in a fancy Dallas neighborhood. This BBQ restaurant is located in North Dallas near the Farmers Branch in a mostly industrial area. But this unusual location does not deter the crowds of BBQ fans from packing one of the best restaurants in Dallas.
You won’t find a typical in-your-face Texas BBQ-themed place. The restaurant is all about the BBQ and the meat. And this is the reason their loyal crowds continue to show up. You won’t find fancy cocktails or loud music. In fact, the only drinks they serve are bottled drinks, no cups or even straws. This place is all about smoked meat.
They’re open 10:30 am until 2:00 pm on both Thursday and Friday, along with the 1st Saturday of each month. It takes time to prepare meat correctly and to serve the best BBQ possible. There can be fairly long lines while waiting to order, but they serve free beer while you wait. The hardest part is trying to decide what to order, as it all looks wonderful.
What is On the Menu
The menu is not so large as to overwhelm you but they still serve up some mouth-watering options. One of the most popular items on the menu is their brisket, which is made with Akaushi beef and smoked for 12 to 16 hours over oak and hickory and comes out tender and moist. It is smoky, but not so smoky that it overpowers the meat.
Other customer favorites include burnt ends, pork ribs, beef ribs, Wagyu pastrami, and pulled pork. They also serve various types of sausage that are made in-house and signature sandwiches like the Toddfather and the Pitboss. And if you can’t make up your mind, you can order one of the sample platters like the Todzilla Platter or the Texas Trinity.
Their homemade side dishes are just as good and make the perfect addition to go along with their excellent BBQ. Side dishes include burnt end beans, classic potato salad, mama jean greens, and Hatch chili mac & cheese. For dessert, their Crack cake is amazingly good.
They don’t accept reservations or cater, however, they do accept pre-orders for bulk meat that is not chopped or sliced and a minimum of 5 pounds. Pre-order select meats include beef rib slab, pork rib slab, a whole brisket, mild or spicy sausage, whole turkey breast, and chopped hog.
The staff is friendly and helpful while they work behind the counter preparing orders. They take the time to answer your questions in a friendly manner.
The wait is worth it at Cattleack BBQ. In fact, they have been consistently named as one of the best restaurants in Dallas for BBQ. Their attention to smoked meat is impressive.
